    Todai-ji Temple (東大寺)

The temple was built in 752 by order of Emperor Shomu, and was to head all the Buddhist temples in Japan. Its main hall, Daibutsuden, is the home of the famous Great Buddha of Nara. The statue, which is 15 meters high, weighs about 25 tons.

    Nara Park (奈良公園)

After the temple, take a walk through the parkland. The sweetest thing about this place is the deer. You can feed them and pet them, they're not afraid of you at all.
The Todai-ji Temple Complex occupies a large part of the northern park. As you pass by, you can see small buildings and structures scattered across the area. The Nandaimon Gate is a large wooden gate with two tall, formidable statues depicting the Queen Guardians of Nio. Two other interesting places there are Hokkedo (Sangatsudo Hall) and Nigatsudo Hall.

    Kasuga Taisha

Kasuga Taishya is the most famous shrine of Nara. The temple was built at the same time as Nara and is dedicated to the deity responsible for protecting the city. The temple was reconstructed every 20 years, but then this rule was abolished.
The temple has an Assembly Hall, which is free to enter. There is also a paid inner area where you can get a closer look at the chambers of the shrine. The farthest hall is the main sanctuary.
There are various small shrines in the forest around the temple, 12 of which are located along the path, they are dedicated to the 12 gods of fortune.
A short walk from the main Kasuga Taixia temple complex is the Shinen Manyo Botanical Garden. It features some 250 plant species described in the Manyoshu, Japan's oldest poetry collection, which dates back to the Nara period. The temple is open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
