The Coventry Music Museum
Coventry famously gave birth to 2-Tone Records and with it, the likes of The Specials, Madness and The Selecter. The label broke down racial barriers and triggered a musical revolution that is still being felt today.
The Coventry Music Museum explores that storied history, but also delves into Coventry's 50s rock'n'roll, 60s beat music and everything in-between. Keep skankin'!
Opening Hours Thursday - Saturday: 10:00 - 16:00 (last entry at 15:30) Sunday: 10:00 - 15:00 (last entry at 14:30) Monday - Wednesday: closed

Gallan House
At the corner of Station Street and Hill Street is the former site of a truly legendary Birmingham venue: The Crown.
It may look like an unassuming city centre building nowadays, but The Crown hosted the first-ever Black Sabbath gig, whilst Robert Plant's pre-Led Zeppelin shows also took place here.

The Soloman Cutler - JD Wetherspoon
It's now a Wetherspoon, but back in the 1980s this was the beating heart of Birmingham's vibrant music scene.
Specifically, this is the former site of Rum Runner's; a favoured nightclub of Duran Duran and Black Sabbath alongside many more famous Brummies from over the years.
Rum Runner's was said to be the breeding ground for the New Romantic movement of the 1980s, which Duran Duran spearheaded.
